With all the hype of H.I.T. (High Intensity Training) there is a tendency to throw away the long standing LSD (Long Slow Distance) type work. There have been extremes on both sides of this issue. In week 2 we present the science behind training under T1 and why the early winter weeks are the best time to do that. We still do not advocate more than 60 to 70 percent there, but that is still a LOT more than most coaches on the HIT band wagon will ever consider.
