Welcome to The Deal Pipeline's Deal of the Day. Shot on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange, we bring you an in-depth look at the terms, advisers and vital information on a specific transaction from The Deal Pipeline's database.
For Thursday, Feb. 9, we look at Redwood City, Calif.-based Oracle Corp.'s $1.9 billion deal for talent management software player Taleo Corp., which Oracle says will boost the cloud-based software offerings of both companies. The deal is the second-largest transaction in its respective industry since November, when Hewlett-Packard Co. acquired Autonomy Corp. plc for over $10 billion. Interestingly, Taleo is a competitor to SuccessFactors Inc., which was acquired by Oracle rival SAP AG.
