Snowy owls are rarely found south of Canada, but once or twice a decade they migrate farther south in winter, an event known as an irruption. Snowy owls, like other owls, hunt at night and typically rest during the day. These were found resting on a beach near Ocean Shores, Washington.
The video and still images were captured with a Canon 1D Mark IV and 600mm f/4 lens. It was edited in Premiere Pro CS5.5. Some scenes were stabilized with After Effects CS 5.5.
