Hard Twist is the Gladstone Hotel’s signature juried exhibition of contemporary textile and fibre art, now in its 14th year. Hard Twist 14 – Entwined explores the cultural space of Canada. Works in the exhibition address many themes, including geography, politics, consent, relationships, race, trauma, cultural symbols, gender issues, capitalism, belonging, the land, and, of course, the iconic feature of our climate – snow. The materials and techniques are as varied as the ideas behind the works.
