This is the 3rd installment of my Obsession Video's which document my never-ending obsession with a rock climb in Thailand called Greed. It is rated 8c+ (5.14c) which makes it the hardest climb in Thailand, and also it's on par with the other hardest route i've ever done!
I tried this climb for the first time in January 2009 (2 weeks), and again last year in February 2011 (2 more weeks). Now i am back again for my 3rd time, and this time i am for sure the strongest i have ever been and VERY close to finishing it. In January this year i spent 3 days re-bolting Greed with Brand New Titanium Bolts that will be good for at least 100 years, and chopping off all the old rusty steel bolts. This video also documents a bit of that process on another route i re-bolted called Ant Jump 8b+ (5.14a). Hopefully i can try that route too... one day... when i am finished on Greed...
My best effort on Greed [so far] this year was on February 8th when i fell just 2 holds from the top! This whole video was shot on February 10th and 11th. The climbing footage (on Greed) has been spliced together so it looks (almost) like it is with no falls, but watch closely and you'll see the splice. It is actually the footage from February 10th when i did it with one-fall; i fell down low that day, and then linked to the top...
So my Obsession continues, but at least this year the clock is not ticking (as loudly in my ear!) since my flight back to Canada isn't for another 2 months!! Time is on my side this year!
I hope you enjoy the film, and i hope the end is in sight!!!

PS. Please Support the Thaitanium Project. The DVD is available for purchase on the website; 1 DVD pays for 1 new Titanium bolt. Coming very soon, you will be able to purchase the ThaitaniumProject Movie for Digital Download through the web-site (that should be available sometime in March 2012). Only through donations and fund raising (by things like the sale of the Thaitanium Project Film) is it possible to re-bolt in Thailand (Bolts are expensive!). If you enjoy climbing in Thailand, or want to help a good cause, please support by donating and/or purchasing the film.
