Fall 2015. Israeli director Ronit Kertsner sees a YouTube-video that goes viral: We see Hans Breuer, a Jewish wandering shepherd, driving an Arab family to the border to Austria. He sings Yiddish lullabies for the children to lighten the mood. Ronit starts filming Hans and thus creates the portrait of an unusual character, who overcomes his own inherited trauma in a highly political and human way: by working with refugees and as a shepherd, living his life with his family in a circus wagon, with no running water and school, in the middle of an idyllic landscape southeast of the Alps.
