Blast from the past!
This is a trailer from a plot based snowboarding movie I co-produced years ago with Sound Strait Productions.
Some good friends and I had formed a small production company in a quest to produce snowboarding videos the way we wanted.
We were all snowboarders who were working hard to try and be in other peoples videos that weren't even turning out the way we liked, so we took it upon ourselves to produce our own. Boy was that stupid! :) I kid, I joke.
No, it was a lot of fun. We would come up with these crazy loose plots and give everybody who was going to have a snowboarding segment in the video a role to play. We ended up getting really carried away a lot in trying to up the production value to make it seem like these high budget films when in reality, we would just end up meeting people or our friends would know people who could help us fulfill our imaginations, to an extent, with next to no money.
Not to mention we really had no idea what we were doing we would just wing it the whole time. We called it "Ghetto Gorilla" style.
Shooting places with zero permission or permits. We would sometimes just go into someplace and ask who the manager was come back later and say that manager gave us permission to film and people would reluctantly let us do our thing, or we would just barge it.So we were usually in a hurry.
Our motto was, "Fix it in post"! We usually never had lines for people to say, we would just say move your mouth and we'll dub it in later, or we would come up with lines on the fly.
Kind of Ed Woodeske mixed with well a lot of stuff.
We were very eclectic.
