'USE' is a jewellery and small objects national touring exhibition. Interviews with Exhibition Curator, Lisa Bryan-Brown, and four of the Exhibition Artists: Catherine Large, Clare Poppi, Paola Raggo and Elizabeth Shaw.
'USE' is a touring exhibition in partnership between Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia, Queensland Chapter Inc. and Museums & Galleries Queensland. The exhibition is being toured by M&G QLD to twelve venues nationally from 2019–2021.
Curated by Lisa Bryan-Brown, 'USE' thematically focuses on the concept of tools and processes to explore the conceptual breadth and layers of meaning that operate within this premise for jewellery practitioners and metalsmiths. While contemporary practices are highly diverse in their forms and motivations, 'tools' are the common denominator that defines this field of creative practice.
Artists: Helen Bird, Jac Dyson, Lois Hayes, Catherine Hunter, Alicia Lane, Catherine Large, Samuel Lintern, Andy Lowrie, Nellie Peoples, Clare Poppi, Kierra-Jay Power, Paola Raggo, Elizabeth Shaw, Katie Stormonth, Rebecca Ward, Helen Wyatt, Xiaohui Yang.
