Figured I would actually render out one of the many little Houdini test setups i do. Done in Houdini and rendered with Mantra.
This one is created by having a few particles that emits velocity into a smoke simulation. Then advecting another set of particles using that smoke velocity, finally copying out some boxes onto those advected particles, controlling color and stretching with speed. Then for rendering i had some fun with geometry light by emitting light from the brightest boxes when rendering.
