Amy made some Valentine's Day cards, giving me an excuse to try "lens whacking"—a DSLR video technique of removing the lens and manually re-positioning it in front of the sensor. Various handheld adjustments cause sporadic focus, distortion, washed out footage from light leaks – generally a dream-like feeling.
I was interested to attempt this shooting method after reading Philip Bloom's article: philipbloom.net/2012/02/01/the-art-of-lens-whacking-real-lights-leaks-and-ones-done-in-post/
(I'm using a Panasonic GH2 with a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens.)
