Emilie Conrad and Dr. Jaquelyn McCandless have been best friends since 1974 where both were teaching at the Center for the Healing Arts in Los Angeles. Dr. McCandless veered away from allopathic-centric medicine into her adventure with alternative treatments. For many years her dedication was on autism; pioneering ground- breaking book, "Starving Brains" created guidelines and treatment plans for deficiencies in digestive capability as well as multi causal environmental factors. Her attention on the immune system not only in the case of autism but the degradation in the general public brought her to investigate the importance of low dose naltrexone in heightening immune functioning. Her impeccable research regarding women and men's hormonal health has been an enormous contribution to the need for the adventure of aging. Now in her 80's, the unstoppable Dr. J. continues to enlighten our community with her gift of dazzlling intelligence.
