We did this remake many years ago (summer 2005). We had really fun doing it. I remember especially making ourselves the music of the game.

My main tasks were all about gameplay, programming and art content : player, weapons, IA, input. There are some enemies that aren't from the original r-type, but it wasn't that easy to found it and then create the animations, etc.

Gerard did a great job with the pixel collision detection, movement of the scenario, blended shadows, menus, and an awesome ranking score screen ;)

The second level was a little bit different...

This game was made with script language, and runs in windows platforms (XP and Vista tested).
