How can one love King's Cross? King's Cross, London, on boxing day, 2011. Changing Pancras Way, beside St Pancras International Station and the new public space*, Kings Boulevard leading to IFO "Identified Flying Object" by Jacques Rival, near Central St Martins' Campus.
I chose the song Carinhoso by Pixinguinha, produced with my own voice and cavaquinho to describe the bittersweet 'saudade' of a familiar place which is changing. (Beautiful sign language version of this song: youtu.be/sBEX5892-uc)
King's Cross, ('Kings Cross Central' is the site of the RELAY art project kingscross.co.uk/culture) is partly an as yet residentially unoccupied transport hub area in Central London but has a surrounding area of 20 000 residents, as well as a passing audience (http://j.mp/GODaSt)
King's Cross is a place were people not only pass by, but also live, work and play.
