On June 20, 2018, I invited women most of who are mothers and are currently battling drug and alcohol addiction at the Santa Maria Rehab Center in Houston, TX to participate in a ritual in which they would carve their name or their child's name onto a diamond shaped wooden table using bronze-casted nails. 189 women participated in the ritual and brought so my sculpture titled Mila (named after my mother, a former alcoholic) to completion. The sculpture was donated to the Santa Maria Rehab Center and the carving ritual is ongoing. Since the first performance in June, 2018 more than 700 names are carved onto the surface of the table.
