Showing at the Baldwin Gallery for the third time is California-based artist Greg Colson. His pieces include drawings, wall sculptures made from salvaged materials and large pie-charts illustrating the supposedly ‘scientific’ results of polls on topics as varied as common phobias or reasons for ‘de-friending’ someone on Facebook. The underlying wit in his pieces pokes fun at the public’s need to bring order to chaos and reflects the fragmented nature of the modern world, where the trivial is often afforded the same concern and ubiquity as the truly important or significant.
