It was a dark night approximately 9:45 pm on the Kinabatagan River and I had a feeling we were gonna find the snake that I had been hoping to see! Gin gin and Ampon my friends had a spot light on what appeared to be a log( I thought to myself “ I hope we find a snake tonight!?!) Gin gin explained to me...”look for someting that looks like a log along the elephant grass and that may be it will be a snake!” Its diddicult to get an eyeshine because of the postition of the snake facing stratight ahead.. Then all of sudden Yes yes!! Gin Gin excalimed! What!! What!! A Snake! I shouted !! Yess!! OMG i could barely contain my self on the boat.. Except for the fact that we saw 25 foot crocks in the water earlier that day! As the small boat pulled up to muddy shore Gin said wait dont scaire yet to allow the tourist on the boat to get an photo opportunity.. I said ok ok no problem and everyone on the Boat said No problem go ahead Erik Good luck! Ran up the muddy hill and begin to observe and as soon as W egot there the snake began to retreat into the Elephant Grass!! OH no i Thought this is our only chance! Ive waited two trips and as life time to have an opportunity to catch and observe a wild python! I cant blow it now! So Immediately reached for tail and I got it!! Little did I know this would turn into a 15 minute mud-wrestling match!
