On February 11, 2012, the Collin College Young Conservatives hosted a candidate forum for GOP judicial candidates that have a primary opponent. The forum was held at Collin College, Spring Creek campus.
Candidates, both new and incumbent, participated in the forum. The highest court represented was the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Other races represented include: Texas 5th District Court of Appeals, the 199th and 380th District Courts of Collin County, and the County Court at Law #2 in Collin County.
Each candidate was given two minutes to introduce themselves. Then the panel provided 4-5 questions to each candidate.
Prior to the event, judicial candidates set up their tables in the foyer, and visited one-on-one with voters attending the forum. This was a great opportunity to meet these candidates, and to learn more about how our Texas court system works and the role of each court within that structure.
