There is an HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis crisis in Myanmar. Between 15 and 20,000 people living with HIV die every year, because they lack access to lifesaving anti-retroviral therapy or ART. In November 2011, the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria cancelled an entire round of funding, Round 11. This will have a devastating effect on scale up of HIV and TB treatment in the country.
