In this video, it shows me and my parents' outing to San Francisco, CA on this lovely, Presidents' Day holiday afternoon. We used the BART train from Fremont, CA to San Francisco, CA. We left San Jose, CA near 1 p.m.
Once at the BART station in Fremont, we took a sneak peak of the BART route. Wow, it goes all the way from Fremont to Daly City!
Then it was nearing 2 p.m. and we headed up to the boarding area. Wow, the train accelerated pretty fast! Then just passed 2 p.m., we finally made it and boarded the San Francisco bound train. The train was traveling at times, 80 mph, highway speed! We saw a quick glimpse of Downtown Oakland after passing through a short underground tunnel. We passed through quite a few stations; Union City, South Hayward, Hayward, Bay Fair, San Leandro, Coliseum/Oakland Airport, Fruitvale, Lake Meritt and West Oakland, and eventually went under the bay (where we went under a long dark tunnel with just lights wipping by at a high speed. Somehow I felt air pressure in my ears when we went in the tunnels. Pretty interesting...), and then finally reached the San Francisco area still passing Embarcadero and Montgomery and Powell St. We finally got off at the Civic Center/UN Plaza station. We The trip was about 40-45 minutes.
We finally arrived and entered the United Nations Plaza just before 3:10 p.m. We walked towards the Civic Center with the well-known buildings, including the San Francisco City Hall and the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
Then by around 3:30 p.m., we walked back along Market Street. We stopped by Carls' Jr. for a snack and restroom break. Afterwards, we headed in the Nordstrom/Westfield San Francisco Center. We went here to do a little of window shopping and then ate some frozen yogurt from Yoppi and chilled/rested at around the food court for a bit.
Then at around 5:35 p.m., we walked back out along Market Street headed back to the BART station since it was getting dark now. We saw someone play live music using just pans and buckets which sounded pretty neat. It was nice to experience a busy city life as this Presidents' Day comes to a close. We went to the Powell Street Station. It was like passed 5:45 p.m. and boy it looked like we were in New York since it was actually crowded and rush hour! Everyone was going home (although not shown in video).
We were well on our way home by around 6 p.m. After passing under that long dark tunnel under the bay, we finally came up from the darkness and we saw Downtown San Francisco with the late sunset sky which was a wonderful view from where we were. It was a great sight to end our lovely trip to San Francisco, CA!
The remainder of the video shows our BART train ride back to Fremont, CA. Hope you guys enjoyed the trip with us! :) Happy Presidents' Day!
