RAVEL is an expanded media performance motivated the interrelated yet often obfuscated connections between textiles and computational and communications technologies. In the performance, the processes of spinning and weaving are conflated with computational and communications media through poetic narration, archival media, and live projections and amplifications of weaving. RAVEL is part of an ongoing creative-research project concerned with gendered and racialized histories and materialities of technical labor.
