Alice in Wonderland (1951) in sixty seconds is a remake of the classic Disney and RKO story about a girl named Alice (Shylo Sharity) who takes the audience on a magical journey through her day dream. Her dream takes her down a rabbit hole in pursuit of a white rabbit, encountering various characters such as the the Caterpillar, Mad Hatter (Thomas W. Allen) and the Queen of Hearts (Alecia Granger) who orders the execution of Alice.
The story is told in one of the most unique film genres, stop motion. Alice's entire dream sequence was shot with a single still camera, requiring eight to nine people moving objects only a few inches, for every photo. The entire dream sequence required a dedicated 17+ hours of shooting and resulted in over 700 still frames. The end product produced over seven hundred photos and when quickly played back together, provides the illusion of movement for this wonderful family classic.
