The Scheme of the Clouds. Video sample: 00min56sec. Original duration: 3min05sec. 1080p HD 29,97p. Stereo. Switzerland, 2018.
The Scheme of the Clouds (La Trama de las Nubes) is one of the projects developed during the Artist-in Residence program Bibliothek Andreas Züst in Switzerland. This work reflects on the idea of Landscape as a fictional but also a generic conventional construction. It presents the imaginary lives of cows and clouds dwelling in the same valley. Both are the main characters of the video piece, setting a dialogue with each other through their voices and thoughts. They build their own narrative to question their position as representational objects. The cows and clouds try to dismantle in a playful manner their position as generic features by creating an alternative storyline that lies between a fable, a fantasy, or a solemn reflection.
The first video The Scheme of the Clouds narrates from the viewpoint of cows while the second piece Hazy Milk, Sea of Mist presents the life of clouds and how they interact with their space and other features within it.
