Object Place is a space suggesting clues to moving treasures, a place that heightens awareness of the inner energy of objects and people. The goal is to provide an experience of being a witness and participant in the construction of a changeable space in real time.
Participants are asked to bring portable objects to the site:
1) Items which have personal significance
2) Something to lighten their load
3) A thing they use every day.
Three performers guide the audience in an interactive experience including the traveling of bodies and things: what do we leave behind as we move. Do we hide things? Are there traces of memory? What can be re-moved, re-configured? The walk invites a contemplation of materiality and wonders if performance is a zero waste event.
Jody Oberfelder, UK based Christopher Matthews Hutchings, and Andrew Sanger will lead the walk.
