My name is AJ Adams and I have created a documentary "Connections A Deeper Meaning Of Cancer" that I began at the age of 15 and completed at 17. Through my relationships with cancer, I worked in developing, interviewing, journaling, producing and presenting a documentary with both still imagery and video.
My vision for this documentary is to recognize the life lessons we learn from our own experiences and through others by personal connection finding a deeper meaning of cancer. We are not defined by cancer but it may define our purpose and discover who we truly are deep inside. It is life altering and a journey that is individual meaning everybody’s journey is different in who we may become and how we view our lives as a result of cancer. Though I have not personally been diagnosed with cancer, it has been a part of more than half my life through others, including my aunt and mom. I want to redefine people’s perceptions of cancer. I don’t want people to feel isolated from their diagnosis and change them for the worse but rather change them for the better in connecting with a deeper sense of cancer where we all are the WINNERS.
Cancer has always fascinated me and I wanted to explore a deeper sense and meaning beyond the medical and scientific studies. I was driven to delve into the human connection through cancer and how it has deeply changed the lives of all who have entered this journey whether you are a one who is diagnosed with cancer, survivor or caretaker.
This is where my interest and passion are presently and perhaps some day I will pursue a career in working with cancer patients in helping them live life. This is a story about living LIFE and learning LESSONS.
Please share as a light for others affected by cancer.
