This is the collaboration between Cornell/CCCP composers, lead by Piyawat Louilarpprasert, both visiting artists, Guillermo Presa and Pisol Manatchinapisit, and guest artists Sergio Cote and Jean-Patrick Besingrand. The events are supported by Cornell Council of Arts (CCA) and the Department of Music, Cornell University. We have 5 performances mainly in Ithaca and New York City. The main performances are including:
31 of August, 7.30pm, Lincoln Hall, Ithaca, Cornell University
5 of September, 12.30, Lincoln Hall, Ithaca, Cornell University
We are also performing in other venues sponsored by:
Silvana, NYC, 29 of August, 7.30pm
Telluride House, 1 of September, 7pm
Kava Tea bar, 4 of September, 8pm
The performance aims to create a scene of a situation which primarily focuses on instrumental physicality and hearing sensibility. At the same time, it creates a deconstruction of its instrumental bodies and performer’s actions with both live and pre-recorded video processing, and electronics. Both visual and sonic elements lead to a situation that oscillates between certainty and uncertainty, connectivity and dis-connectivity – where the performers’ game deceives the audience with regard to both indeterminacies and illusions of their performance. Moreover, this situation creates aural/visual dissonances and disorientation between “Sight and Sound”.
