This short film "Metro Dreams" was born out of personal frustrations with the state of my high street. It is difficult to go to any area within London or town around the country without being forced into a 'local', 'express' or 'mini' super market. As a result we all eat the same food for dinner regardless of where we are in the country. This gradual homogenisation of the contents of our fridges and larders is a disappointing result of our reliance on convenience and low cost groceries. The experience of this shopping is without pleasure, novelty or reward, instead we are held ransom by the empty promise of 'rewards' and march like cattle through the soulless automatic doors. And let us not forget how it must feel on the other side of the till...
