Artist: The Ruffled Feathers
Song: Canals of Suzhou
We filmed our session with the Ruffled Feathers, surrounded by history. The Museum of Vancouver was more than happy to host us after catching the band in concert earlier in the year.
The Ruffled Feathers are made up of Charley, Gina, Andrew, Matt and Sam. The dramatic male harmonies and Gina’s angelic voice, carry listeners to an earlier time. The band was a fantastic fit to film encompassed by the city’s history.
They performed the song “Canals of Suzhou.” It is inspired by the small city, located on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Suzhou is dubbed the “Venice of the East” due to the extensive maze of canals running through the city and the abundant high arching stone bridges. This is the city where Charley’s grandfather grew up and where a piece of his history remains.
