MATOOKE, THE CROP THAT BUILT THE UGANDAN NATION is a video story that shows the complex life of the Ugandan people, their concerns and ways of fighting for their dreams. Matooke is used as a symbol for the Ugandan nation and the documentary has a similar structure to a bunch of matooke. Every story is connected to each other through matooke. Matooke, the green banana, is showing the good examples of how the Ugandans managed to create their universe around plantations and learnt how to make money out of it, even to have 1000% profit, on the european market. Our documentary is a video defintion of the nowadays Ugandan people, who are determined to built their world with a lot of energy and smiles.
A documentary filmed in Kampala, Uganda, East Africa, in 2011, dedicated to the Ugandan people.
