About the film: Shooting on glaciers comes with obvious challenges. Building a real igloo is an ancient craft even the Inuits starring in this film didn't master. But I'm very happy we were able to convince the client to shoot this for reel and not in the studio with a styrofoam fake igloo.
Production notes: During our recce on snow scooters we saw nothing due to a super dense fog. I had to stand close to the scout to even see him. As he was pointing at a white wall he was describing what was there to see, but than corrected himself pointing out all that was actually a little more to the left. We laughed all the way down to base station as our safety guys were sweating to rediscover our tracks in this endless omnipresent white landscape. The next day we saw the numerous gaps and scary caverns on either sides of the route.
