This is video documentation of a recent exhibition I curated for the Old Market Gallery in Rotherham. Shot only with a compact Canon Ixus camera, I was surprised with the quality.
Here is the original statement for the show;
Repercussions is a showcase exhibition in Rotherham, of recent graduates selected from degree shows across the UK including Sheffield, Liverpool, Derby, Edinburgh and London.
Throughout the degree shows I visited, I was interested in work which was subtle and demonstrated conviction to ideas, shows an insight into their practice and offered new ways of understanding opposed to full conclusions.
All of the artists involved seemed undeterred by the pressure of being a graduating artist, and each showed a constant desire to evolve their practice beyond their degree. By bringing them together I aimed to bring their work to new audiences and have a collective showcase of practice and ideas.
Repercussions features work by Sara Pinfold, Mark Anderton, Hannah Knights, Joe Crowdy, Thomas Adam and Lynn Ball. The private view was held on the 2nd February between 6:30-8:30pm at the Old Market Gallery in Rotherham. The exhibition ran from 2nd February - 2nd March.
