The audio is a live recording from my concert at Haus Gnad, Vienna, on 24 September 2019.

Using the dramatic themes and melodic cells of Edvard Grieg's SOLVEIGS SANG (from Peer Gynt), I created [ s o l v e i g ], a new aural framework for one of the most interesting women characters in classical music. Solveig in the drama is lost without her lover, but through my composition she takes on a new independence. the word "solveig" can stand for the path of the sun. As the sun, Solveig forges her own blazing path across the sky.

I was awarded a composition grant for this project from Bundeskanzleramt Austria, arts and culture division.
