The Salvation Army's Share Change is proud to announce our newest short film - La Deuda. Shot entirely on location in a rural colonia outside of Tijuana, Mexico, it's a coming-of-age tale inspired by the parable of the unmerciful servant.
The film is being distributed in the US and Bermuda by HBO, and will be available on HBO Max and HBO Latino starting in February 2020!
The film is in Spanish, with English subtitles.
"In a small village outside Tijuana, a young Mexican boy named Victor lives with his father and beloved pet goat, Isabel. But when his father’s debts catch up with them, they are given an ultimatum: payment in full, or The Collectors take Isabel, and turn her into birria (goat stew). As the situation escalates, Victor comes of age – for better or worse – in his quest to save Isabel’s life."
