Steinar Nes from Sogndal, Norway, experienced how a large avalanche released from a face he was skiing. Together with two friends, Torgeir Henjum and Henrik Langeland he walked their lines up the mountain to check the snow and conditions. On the way up to Frudalshesten, 1598 meters above sealevel, they concidered the area as safe, but unfortunately conditions changed faster than they thought it would. All of the skiers were of course equipped with the basic gear for mountain rescue - shovels, probes and transmitter/recievers. This time they also had luck on their side.
