The Truth Is Bad Enough
What Became of the Happy Hustler?
The Truth Is Bad Enough, What Became of the Happy Hustler? chronicles my raucous life in the seventies (encompassing one of the Twentieth Century’s greatest hoaxes in which I publicly “became” the character depicted in a wildly successful fiction paperback book) to my reinvention as I entered the Twenty First Century as a longtime HIV survivor, an artist-activist with an extensive list of accomplishments, none greater than being the adoptive father of a black daughter.
My life traverses a period of time that includes the Stonewall Riots, the dawn of gay liberation, the AIDS crisis, and the relentless persecution of GLBTI people worldwide.
That said, The Truth Is Bad Enough is sexy, political, significant, candid, juicy, smart, but—above all—entertaining as hell.
