The Collective is a diverse community of youth from vastly different walks of life, brought together by Jesus Christ.
The Collective exists to reach out and extend the hope of Christ to young people in relevant ways, connect them to a vital Christian community, give them opportunity to grow in Christ-likeness, and create avenues for them to serve others in our broken world.
Jesus commanded of us as his followers in Matthew 28 to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. “
In 1 Corinthians 12:25-27 Paul says “that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
Paul says in Romans 8:13-16 “Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed." Luke 4:18
This cycle of ministry is imprinted into everything that we do at The Collective and results in life-long, fruit bearing Disciples of Christ who will in turn make other Disciples.
