I love a challenge. My photography strives to connect people emotionally to wildlife and I have loved using new tools to do just that. With video becoming easier and easier (with the Nikon mirrorless cameras), about a year and a half ago, I started experimenting with filmmaking. I was always scared of video work, because I felt it needed a big production, but not anymore.
The challenge was from ASUS to create a video while on the road with their ZenBook Pro Duo. I find myself really excited and passionate right after filming, so having the tools on the road to edit videos, is pretty awesome.
The video was from my two weeks in Southern Africa in December. It was such an amazing trip. Seeing rhinos in the wild was truly life-changing. Such amazing animals that need help so that we don't lose them (some are even de-horned in this piece to help them from the threat of poaching). I saw a 3 year old in the middle of all the adults. Seeing new life in a threaten species brought tears to my eyes. It was beautiful.
I also saw a very rare blue eyed zebra, looking right at me. I will never forget those eyes. Oh and my very first chameleon (good thing I took the audio out, I was squealing with excitement). I have always been drawn to texture, and loved filming the water fall at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. It is like a rainbow feed on the droplets. Sounds so silly, but here is my film. I hope you enjoy it!
Photographed with my Nikon #Z7, Nikkor 200-500 and Nikkor 105 macro with the ftz adapter. All handheld, all at 120fps.
A bit about the ASUS laptop.... it has two 4k monitors, Intel i9 processor, NVIDIA Geforce RTX graphics card. Its pretty amazing.
