This video from 2011 is not one that highlights exceptional quality, but rather emphasizes the effectiveness of my role as producer and director. My Microsoft colleagues at the time had zero experience with filmmaking (other than one who had acted a few times), but when they learned I was going to make another video showcasing one of our projects, they all wanted to be a part of it. So, this became an exercise in me teaching them the entire filmmaking process, from beginning to end, assigning them to roles that they were most interested in, and guiding them through to a successful completion of the video while also giving them enough room to contribute their own individual creative passions to the project. While not the greatest of videos, it was a huge morale booster for the team and became wildly popular in our org (Is there such a thing as a corporate cult video?), and fulfilled our goal of drawing attention to the project.
