What an amazing wedding day! We had the pleasure of doing both photography and cinema for Eileen and Francis' special day. It was wonderful to witness the deep-rooted cultural aspects and the love of their families and close relationships. We appreciate the opportunity and generosity shown to us by Eileen, Francis and their families.
Eileen & Francis participated in traditional tea ceremonies at both of their family homes honoring their parents, relatives and ancestors. It was pretty cool to learn that their homes were only a block apart so we could actually film the limo leaving Francis' house from Eileen's balcony!
The day transitioned over to the Hale Koa Hotel where Eileen changed into a gorgeous wedding dress. The rainy forecast moved their previously planned outdoor ceremony indoors, but did not dampen the joy and celebration that everyone present could feel.
This was our first full cultural cinematic wedding where the entire program, toasts and speeches were given in Chinese. That was quite an enriching experience!
...But now we have a concern to admit that we did not forsee: We might seriously need a Chinese-speaking editor to work on the full edit! We have multiple cameras and audio recorded separately but don't understand a word of what is being said! Chinese editors please apply! LOL ;)
