During the four months I spent in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in 2005,
I was inspired by the city, life and people to create this dance piece.
The sight and behavior of many geckos at night in Saigon was particularly striking.
The gecko is a common lizard in Asia.
They gather around fluorescent lamps at night.
The word gecko sounds the same as "gekko", which means "moonlight" in Japanese.
In addition, my original Korean family name is Moon.
In this performance I connect Asia and Europe by diving into my origin, linking these concepts: the gecko, the moonlight and the night.
