A truncated octahedron is scripted to seek a series of points. The geometry fuses to itself along one of 12 directions implicit in the geometry. The script analyzes which of these directions is most efficient to reach the first point. Upon reaching the first point, the geometry starts to seek the second and so on until all points are found. The geometries are then booleaned out of a "ground" slab.
The script was composed in Grasshopper using Hoopsnake. The animation was created in Maya.
