Seminar in Film Sound
(10.00 loop. 16mm. UK/USA 2007)
A film production student presents a seminar on the relationship between dialogue, music score and environmental sound in the fiction film. During her presentation there are long periods of silence where she pauses for thought. These gaps produce attenuations in sound in the class and in the ear of the viewer. The camera tracks around the speaker in ten timed revolutions, each pass behind the chalkboard introducing new micro changes of behaviour in the room.
