Saturday the 10th of March (08:30 AM) Andreas G Polden, Espen Myklebust and Lars Nilssen went on a steep skiing mission to the Cunningham couloir, under the bridge of Aiguille du Midi. We did three full length rapells with two 48 meter ropes linked together, which was barely long enough. We had no idea of how the snow was like before we got down there, it turned out that the snow on the top of the couloir was hard packed with parts of it covered in ice. After the first couple of turns the snow turned out to be OK.
We cautiously made our way down towards the Exit couloir/West couloir and skied in mixed contitions down to the Glacier (Glacier des Bossons). We traversed towards the mid station of the Aiguille du Midi and got some great turns on untouched snow before heading into the woods.
