Made for the BBC in 1995, this film puts flesh on the statistic that at the time, 1:4 children living in Britain were living in poverty. "The Lost City" is a portrait of three boys, three families in one street in South Wales.
The children were given stills cameras and asked to photograph their lives. The resulting photographs were used in the programme and exhibited in an exhibition in Cardiff.
‘This programme is one of the most damning indictments of nineties Britain I have seen in a long time’ The Times Eduction Supplement.
