Martin Buser and his son Rohn crossed the burled arch today with their lead dogs side-by-side, a photo finish that was too close to call from the sidelines.
While the standings on Iditarod.com say 22-year-old Rohn finished 1 second ahead of his four-time champion father, the time sheet I watched the Busers sign says they tied at the finish.
DeeDee Jonrowe, a friend of the Busers who helped care for the dogs as they arrived, said she's never seen anything like it.
"I've never seen a father and son come across and I've never seen anybody be able to put both lead dogs in at the same time," she said.
Check out that time card: Both mushers arrived in 10 days, 18 hours, 10 minutes and 12 seconds.
