Studio G got a rush job to whip up a trailer for President Obama's latest foray into digitally connecting with the electorate. Citizens submitted questions for POTUS online, and five people were chosen to participate in a Google Hangout with Barack!
The task was deceptively difficult: cut a two-minute trailer that introduced the participants, featured the interface, and represented the spirit of the endeavor without treading the line into promoting the president in an election year. Easier said than done . . .
Teamed with longtime freelance editor Steve Rubin, we cranked out a version that was acceptable to all parties in a few days, pushing the center pane through After Effects to mitigate the white space and make it more viewer-friendly. Enjoy!
