They are looking to hide, The Sheriff's Department is looking to find.
The Sheriff's Courts Services Bureau is working hard to clear outstanding warrants. People who have warrants out for their arrests stay off the grid, but deputies still find them.
In 2008, deputies cleared 1,239 warrants. Compare that to 4,388 warrants cleared in 2011.
Warrant sweeps and patrols are of NO COST to taxpayers. People with outstanding warrants pay fines when they are arrested. That money is then used to look for people who are running from the law.
A salute to our deputies in the Sheriff's Courts Services Bureau.
If you have a warrant out for your arrest, you can surrender at any County Courthouse Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Inform a Sheriff's Deputy that you would like to take care of your warrant. For court locations visit 1.usa.gov/GAXNAz.
