In "Fiction Quotes Fiction, Reality Vanishes" Hou Chien Cheng focuses on the visual capturing and the examination of people, namely, the translation of their concerns or daily routines into performative sculptures. The relationship between a person and their environment is granted a new form and meaning, and these relationships are studied in a new way. This creates a metaphysical portrait. In this video work, Hou shows a person unrolling meters of cardboard. The implementation of this everyday act is so important to the artist that he created a portrait of it.
