Produced in 2011, "La Muerte" (The Death) is the musical videoclip for the mexican rock band ''Santo Mezcal''. Both members from Affyoz created everything from scratch with help, consultancy and support from their colleges at Film SFX, Miguel Salinas and Jordi Toriz. Jordi already have the main concept for the Death, wich Affyoz baptised "Morty B." as a tribute to Cary Grant in his roll as "Mortimer Brewster" in Frank Capra's movie "Arsenic and Old Lace". Fefy, lead designer, created the singer called "Hugo", and it's taken directly from Santo Mezcal's front man and singer Hugoo Álvarez. The black eyes was another tribute, in these case a tribute to the american band "Limp Bizkit" gutarist, Wess Boreland, and to the TV series "Supernatural" where deamon's have that black-eyed look. Fafy also cameup with the idea of an urban scenario and the design of the bass that Hugo plays. Vaderoz animated the whole clip and also make another little tribute to "ZZTop" at the end of the guitar solo.
This video won an Special Mention at Festival Pantalla de Cristal 2011 for Animation Entrie and it was the only music videoclip that incorporate animation. Also Canal 100, responsible of the Festival, gave Affyoz two pages in their magazine "Telemundo" on its edition 123. This video has been well accepted in its homeland and Affyoz is looking forward to showit-up to the world. Greetings from Mexico.
