In 2009 Linda Rivera became deathly ill with an E. coli O157:H7 infection she contracted from eating cookie dough. Because of her infection, Rivera has battled septic shock, colon removal, kidney failure, liver failure, stroke, brain damage, coma, and more. She has faced death numerous times, spent over a year in the hospitals and rehab facilities and continues to require treatment today.
