Illuminating the Dark | Cave Diving in South Africa

Words don't do justice when explaining what it's like diving in a cave. In this video, cave and tech diving legend, Don Shirley guides us through his backyard playground Komati Springs .

Was an incredible experience filming this with Don this past week floating through the subterranean snakes-and-ladders environment of this old mine.

Diving on a rebreather, in a cave, on a full face-mask and filming was definitely one of the coolest experiences I've ever had.

Shot using my Panasonic GH5s in an Aquatica Digital housing. Filming was predominantly done with Bigblue Dive Lights two VL15000Ps for ambient lights, two camera-mounted VL8000Ps for fill lighting and a few hand held VL6000Ps for creating the beams of light in the shots.
